Kasey has started a new treatment plan. She recently began an infusion called Zometa, which helps protect her bones and improve bone health. This bone infusion is given every 6 months (every 168 days). She is also receiving Zoladex—the dreaded shot. Her dose was increased from 3.6 mg to 10 mg, which hasn’t been easy.

Kasey had her post-op appointment today with Dr. Swelsted. Her incision hasn’t fully healed yet, but it’s looking really good overall. Kasey’s surgery is scheduled for Monday, December 15, at 4:15 PM. She spoke with her doctor and learned that the cells are precancerous. This explains why it has been challenging to remove everything in one procedure: precancerous cells aren’t visible on scans, and pathology results take time, so surgeons can’t confirm during the operation that
