Update 4

Kasey received her first round of chemo yesterday, June 11. Along with her HER2 protein infusion.
Colt and Kasey arrived at oncology at the pavilions at about 8 o’clock and left around 3:00 PM. The infusion took about 6 hours. Kasey managed the infusion well with minimal side effect thus far such as headache, and having a hard time concentrating.

Kasey did start cold caps which kept colt very busy during the infusion process having to help change the cold caps about every 25 minutes.
Kasey said the cold cap was tingly in the beginning and she had to really focus on her breathing, hopefully resulting in the positive outcome of keeping her hair.! Many other people in the infusion room around her were highly interested in the cold cap experience! One of the funniest comments made was someone asked her why she was there she said breast cancer, he responded in your head? It made for a good chuckle, something Kasey really needed.
It is recommended to cold cap for 4 to 5 hours after infusion. Kasey got to finish that process at home on her own couch!
Now a waiting process to determine which days, she is going to be feeling crappy. And which days she will feel OK.

Kasey does have to baby her hair during the week of infusion. She is a little concerned about all the work this is going to be, but hopeful it will be worth every bit. She hates that she cares so much about her appearance and not wanting to look sick!

Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers. We appreciate you all!
