Yesterday, Kasey had her port placement procedure, which went perfectly without any complications. While under, she dreamt of a fun day wakeboarding on the lake and was a mildly annoyed when the PACU nurse woke her. Now back home and recovering, Kasey’s in great spirits despite some soreness. She’s getting used to her new appearance, joking that she’s turning into a “bionic woman.” The ovary suppression shot was very painful, and she’s not thrilled about repeating it every three weeks, playfully calling it a “torture chamber.” Her humor shines through as she navigates this new normal. Her first chemo is scheduled for June 11. We’re feeling a bit down since we were supposed to be in Mexico this week, enjoying adult-only beach time. But life took an unexpected turn, and things aren’t what we envisioned. That’s just how it goes sometimes, so instead of beach time this week focus is on chemo education and arranging cold cap therapy to help save her hair. Genetic testing results are still pending, expected in the next couple of weeks.
Please continue thinking and praying for her. Stay Strong Sis you got this!!!
