Kasey has started a new treatment plan. She recently began an infusion called Zometa, which helps protect her bones and improve bone health. This bone infusion is given every 6 months (every 168 days).
She is also receiving Zoladex—the dreaded shot. Her dose was increased from 3.6 mg to 10 mg, which hasn’t been easy. The upside is that it’s now administered every 84 days instead of monthly. Though there is understandable concern about potential side effects with the higher dose.
In addition, she has started an estrogen aromatase inhibitor, which pushes her body further into menopause and she is definitely feeling those symptoms.
After her recent infusion, Kasey experienced significant bone pain along with flu-like symptoms, so she spent the weekend resting and taking things slow while her body recovered.
She is also starting her expander fills Monday, and is hopeful to receive a clearer timeline for when radiation treatment may begin.
Through all of these changes, Kasey is doing her best to stay positive, reminding herself to take everything one day at a time. 💕
