Kasey has started a new treatment plan. She recently began an infusion called Zometa, which helps protect her bones and improve bone health. This bone infusion is given every 6 months (every 168 days). She is also receiving Zoladex—the dreaded shot. Her dose was increased from 3.6 mg to 10 mg, which hasn’t been easy.

Kasey’s surgery is scheduled for Monday, December 15, at 4:15 PM. She spoke with her doctor and learned that the cells are precancerous. This explains why it has been challenging to remove everything in one procedure: precancerous cells aren’t visible on scans, and pathology results take time, so surgeons can’t confirm during the operation that

Kasey’s pathology report came back, and unfortunately, there are still cancerous cells present at the margins. This means she’ll need another surgery, which will likely be scheduled very soon.
